Real power is built through human to human connection. There is no substitute for it.

F***ing YES! Grace. Amazing article, and WHAT a result! A swing from 14,000 at GE to 4,000 despite the hate filled and divisive opponents. Just epic. And, she's a plumber en-route to Westminster. What a day to smack supremacy culture in the face! #GetIn

The work starts now, and the Far Right will do all they can to make life difficilt for her.

Spring is a very good time for Green shoots to appear. May they grow big, strong and verdant for many years to come.

She’s a dynamic, authentic, ray of light and she’ll be fantastic going forward. Young enough to have the energy and conviction we need. What a massive sigh of relief. One less thing for me to worry about 😎

So happy to see her in parliament!

I am not really a natural fit for the Green Party, but I support an ethical foreign policy including human rights, the defense of the UK from US or Russian oligarchic imperialism and responsive Democracy. Those simple basic criteria make any other vote impossible.

If that were your manifesto, then I'd happily vote for yourself, Raj! 👍

Our desire for meaningful change must come from below. The Greens are helping to bring about the change we need. May we go from strength to strength.

This feels like a great day for the ordinary people ✊

Great post celebrating the power of grassroots organising! There are so many people on the left who will now see the Greens as a party who is for them. Which will lead to a breakthrough at May elections.

This! Precisely this. Thank you Grace. 🙏

The Greens remind people that there are human beings involved in politics. I loved their recent campaign ad of Polanski running. It was the first time in a long time that I'd seen a politician name all the issues that the working people are facing and not just call for us to tighten our belts and struggle through a time of austerity - instead they called for changing the system altogether, making it clearly that the game is rigged. We need this!

It reminds me of Mamdani's NY mayoral campaign. What a win that was! I saw on instagram yesterday that the Mamdani administration posted a video of bloopers of him trying to speak Spanish to engage with the Latin-American community. I can't remember the last time I saw someone in politics share their mistakes like that. Make politics human again!

Yes, so many similarities to Mamdani. Courage, honesty, listening to people. Who knew that these could work?

Saw this coming the day Starmer blocked Andy Burnham... politically stupid decision due to arrogance and an entitled attitude.

Roll on the general election.

Is it over simplistic to think the core of revolution is human dignity liberated from the clutches of sub human regressive forms of politics and discourse called capitalism?

If struggle is not about that basic principle including all being, as in Albert Schweitzers' " reverence for life", we might as well start hanging the pompous" council of peace" immediately, to kick their twitching heels in quickstep time. If words were stones,

I'd break some bones,

And the strong would suffer

what they must

before the blows

of lesser dust.

"When a politician appears on the television promising to fix everything, many voters understandably switch off."

Or, in my case, don't watch TV due to the diet of imbecility given us, no matter what the program, for the most part. Very happy with the result. At some point the Labour party might work out that aligning with people's real values rather than trying to think of what will appeal to racists, bígots, and billionaires might be an idea. What can you say? Starmer thinks AI will supercharge the UK *sigh* Although shout out to Ed Milliband for doing a great job on renewables.
