Happy Friday from an extremely rainy Cornwall! Here in Newquay we’ve had a few sunny days recently, but there’s a town nearby where it’s rained every day since the New Year. As I covered last week, the warming Atlantic Ocean is likely the culprit – good news for my morning swims, not such good news for the future of life on earth…

This week, I’m trialling a new format for WIRTW – I’m going to be giving a short bullet point summary of each of the articles covered before writing a few paragraphs of analysis. I want this column to provide a lot of information relatively succinctly, so I figured this format might work better.
