The media might have largely moved on from reporting about the cost of living crisis, but the effects of several years of consumer price inflation combined with stagnant incomes are being felt by many UK consumers – particularly the poorest. The Telegraph reports on Barclays’ data showing that household spending has fallen for the first time since the pandemic.
